Project Student Practices – Phase 1

       

     Project Goals:

    • Improve the quality of higher education by providing students with practical experience in a real working environment.
    • Improve the practical skills of students from universities in compliance with the labour market demands.
    • Strengthen relations between higher education institutions and employers, establish and develop partnerships.
    • Provide additional opportunities for graduates for successful inclusion in the labour market.

    Target Groups:

    •  All students.
    • Mentors – employees of organizations providing student practices.

    Project Activities:

    1. Employers apply to become training organizations and report project activities via the e-platform http://praktiki.mon.bg/.
    2. Student practices correspond to a student’s course and have duration of 240 (astronomical) hours in a real working environment; the student performs tasks according to an approved program. The practice is conducted under the supervision of an employee of the training organization – a mentor, and a professor of his/her university – an academic mentor.
    3. The student registers and creates his/her profile in the e-platform module, which allows him/her to apply for positions announced by training organizations.

    Results:

    1. 27 positions announced.
    2. Over 200 applicants from the cities of Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora declared an interest.
    3. 79 students from universities in Sofia and Varna signed contracts for student practices.
    4. 13 Bulgarian Posts’ employees signed contracts to become mentors.
