Project Improving Safety at Work in Bulgarian Posts Plc

Project Goals:

• Increasing the efficiency of human resources in Bulgarian Posts Plc by modernizing the conditions for safety at work and integrating a standard for safe and healthy working conditions while observing the norms and requirements of the legislation on safety and health at work.

Target Groups:

• All employees of Bulgarian Posts Plc, as the standard for occupational safety BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 covers the activities of all structural units.
• Employees working at the central building of Bulgarian Posts Plc in the town of Plovdiv - 184 people.
• Employees working at the central building of Bulgarian Posts Plc in the town of Blagoevgrad - 65 people.
• Employees working at Bulgarian Philately and Numismatics - 9 people.
• Employees at all Regional Units of Bulgarian Posts Plc trained to work with the new safety standard.

Project Activities: 

• Preparation of an analysis of the status and organization of work activities in several units of Bulgarian Posts.
• Implementation and certification of the standard for occupational safety BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 in Bulgarian Posts Plc.
• Training of employees responsible for occupational safety and health working at all regional units to work with the newly introduced safety standard.
• Design and construction of a fire alarm system in the central building of Bulgarian Posts Plc in the town of Blagoevgrad.

 Results:

• Analysis of the status and design of the organization of work activities in the central buildings of Bulgarian Posts Plc in the towns of Blagoevgrad and Plovdiv and in the Specialized Division Bulgarian Philately and Numismatics.
• Development and certification of a standard for occupational safety BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 in all structural units of the company as of 13 February 2015. The Occupational Health and Safety Management System according to BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 standard is integrated into the existing Quality Management System and Information Security according to the standards ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 27001: 2013 in Bulgarian Posts Plc.
• Training of 51 postal employees - 39 people to apply the new standard in the activities of the company and 12 people to monitor compliance with the standard.
• A designed and built fire alarm system in the central building of Bulgarian Posts Plc in the town of Blagoevgrad.
