CHANGES IN THE CUSTOMS CLEARANCE OF POSTAL ITEMS CONTAINING GOODS, ORIGINATING FROM THIRD COUNTRIES OR TERRITORIES

Bulgarian Posts Plc would like to inform its customers that as of 1 May, 2023 the following changes as regards the customs clearance of postal items containing goods, originating from third countries or territories, will apply:
     1.    For postal items containing goods subject to distance selling with a value of up to the BGN equivalent of 150 EUR and with the VAT paid at the time of purchase under the Special regime for the distance sales of goods imported from third countries or territories (Scheme for Import One-Stop-Shop – IOSS), customers will pay a fee for the H7 customs declaration with a reduced set of data submitted by Bulgarian Posts Plc. The fee is to the amount of 3 BGN, VAT included, in accordance with the pricelist of Bulgarian Posts Plc, and will be paid upon delivery of the item at the post office. No documents will be provided by customers unless additional information is required by the customs inspectors.

     2.    For postal items containing goods of a non-commercial nature sent from an individual to an individual with a total value of up to the BGN equivalent of 45 EUR, customers will pay a fee for the H7 customs declaration with a reduced set of data submitted by Bulgarian Posts Plc. The fee is to the amount of 3 BGN, VAT included, in accordance with the pricelist of Bulgarian Posts Plc, and will be paid upon delivery of the item at the post office. No documents will be provided by customers unless additional information is required by the customs inspectors.
The customs clearance of postal items arriving in Bulgaria before 1 May, 2023 will be carried out according to the rules currently in effect. The new fees will not apply to postal items arriving in Bulgaria before 1 May 2023.
The new fees will apply to postal items arriving in Bulgaria on or after 1 May, 2023.
In the case of goods purchased before 1 May, 2023 but arriving in Bulgaria on or after 1 May 2023, the new fees will apply
